The southwest Peninsula Coast Path - the longest in Britain - follows the magnificent Cornish coastline.
It is at its best in late spring, when the cliffs are covered with pink thrift and white sea campion. But serious walkers tend to prefer the autumn, when the sea becomes rougher and the wind strengthens, rendering the landscape more dramatic. Dartmoor is only an hour’s drive away.
